Dustbowl Revival has always been about pushing the boundaries of American roots music. The band’s new album Is It You, Is It Me, represents the latest stage in a band that never stops evolving. Produced by Sam Kassirer [Lake Street Dive, Josh Ritter] and engineered by Brian Joseph [Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens], the album will be released Jan. 31.

After celebrating over a decade of sonic adventuring, playing thousands of shows and collecting a devoted fan-base, the core members – founder Z. Lupetin, Liz Beebe, Josh Heffernan, Matt Rubin, Ulf Bjorlin and Connor Vance – knew they had to create something bigger. This album isn’t afraid to explore the personal and political tension that the group may have shied away from before.

Dustbowl Revival’s story started humbly, nearly 12 years ago. Chicago native Z. came to L.A., grew disillusioned with his job and placed a hopeful ad on Craigslist. He sought to find fellow musicians who shared his love of Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, Old Crow Medicine Show, and the brass bands of New Orleans, but also wanted to write songs like Americana pioneers Wilco, Lucinda Williams and Bruce Springsteen. There are still players in the group who responded to that initial odd quest.

After releasing their latest self-titled album with Grammy winning producer Ted Hutt at the helm, achieving multiple weeks on Billboard charts and being picked as top 5 Bands to Watch by Relix Magazine, the band returns with 13 new songs and a nationwide tour to support.

All shows at The Venice West are 21+ only, unless otherwise stated. Valid government-issued photo ID is required for entry. Guests who cannot provide proof of age will not be admitted and no refunds will be issued.

Parking

Please note that residential/street parking is the only parking available near the venue. We strongly encourage rideshare services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) for a safe and convenient experience.
