New York’s Funniest Stand-Ups, the New York Comedy Festival’s highly anticipated annual comedy showcase, has been a premier breeding ground for top young talent, having launched the careers of some of today’s biggest stars, including Nate Bargatze, Michael Che, Tim Dillon, Josh Johnson, and Ricky Velez.  For 16 years, it was a competition where hopeful talent battled it out for the coveted title of “New York’s Funniest Stand-Up.”  In 2025, the festival reimagined the event, transforming it from a competition into an exciting new showcase.  Instead of competing for a title, New York’s Funniest Stand-Ups now celebrates the vibrant comedy scene of New York City.  A carefully curated group of emerging comedians, handpicked by the festival’s booking team, takes center stage to share their unique styles and hilarious perspectives.  This exciting evolution offers a fresh platform for rising stars to connect with a diverse audience of comedy enthusiasts and industry professionals, promising to be a must-see event.
