New York, NY — NYLaughs is moving from the season of giving straight into the season of laughing.

Pizza Throwdown is NYLaughs’ joyful, slightly unhinged FUN-raiser where food-savvy comedians cook up bold pizza creations, live stand-up keeps the room buzzing, and the audience gets to eat, laugh, and vote. It’s a dinner competition, a comedy show, and a community hang all rolled into one loud, delicious night. The audience helps crown a winner all while enjoying pizza, antipasti, open bar, dessert cource and a few surprise prizes.

The event takes place on Sunday, January 25, from 3–6 PM, at The Stand in Manhattan and supports NYLaughs and its endeavors to bring free comedy events to the public and the NYLaughsfest2026.

Proceeds from Pizza Throwdown help power NYLaughsfest, NYLaughs’ free, citywide comedy festival returning in June 2026 to Union Square, bringing stand-up, connection, and joy to an event all New Yorkers can enjoy. Every slice supports free comedy for New Yorkers because “a better New Yorker is a laughing New Yorker,” especially on stalled mass transit.

The evening features stand-up performances by Corey B, Jourdain Fisher, and Ophira Eisenberg, with Alexis Guerreros serving as host. Each comedian will present their own signature pizza, competing for topping glory, while keeping the laughs flowing with live stand-up. The winning pizza will be chosen by a combination of audience votes and a panel of food-world experts, including Chef Stephen Cusato, creator of Not Another Cooking Show, and internet food sensation Fabrizio Brienza.
