Thievery Corporation is an internationally acclaimed electronic music duo formed in Washington, D.C., by Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. Known for their genre-defying sound, Thievery Corporation seamlessly blend downtempo, trip-hop, dub, bossa nova, reggae, soul, jazz, Middle Eastern, and Indian influences into a globally inspired sonic experience.

Since their 1996 debut Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi, the group has built a reputation for lush productions, politically conscious themes, and immersive live performances featuring a rotating collective of musicians and vocalists from around the world. Captain Planet 

Fueled by an early love of hip-hop, Charlie B. Wilder (Captain Planet) began DJ-ing and making beats in his teens on a Tascam 4-track cassette, developing an obsession with digging for vinyl samples. That journey expanded his taste across reggae, Latin, and African music, which became the building blocks of his trademark “Gumbo Funk” sound. After cutting his teeth in New York City’s club scene, Captain Planet released his debut album Cookin Gumbo (2011) on Bastard Jazz Records, followed by Esperanto Slang (2014), Night Visions (2017), and NO VISA (2020), along with internationally recognized remixes and mixtapes that earned major coverage and playlisting. In 2022 he toured extensively across 10 countries, while his music surpassed millions of streams; in 2023 he released his fifth studio album, Sounds Like Home, further spotlighting his love of organic vintage global funk, soul, and disco.
