Desert Dwellers is a diverse electronic music project that bridges the ancient and thefuture, fusing deep bass, world instrumentation, and psychedelic textures intoimmersive sonic journeys. Founded in 1999 by Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe,the project grew out of the legendary Moontribe gatherings in the deserts of SouthernCalifornia and has since become a cornerstone of global festival culture.Blending influences from countless genres, Desert Dwellers has released dozens ofalbums and remixes, toured across five continents, and collaborated with an eclecticarray of artists from around the world. Their music has graced stages at Symbiosis,Ozora, Lightning in a Bottle, Boom, Envision, Shambhala, and Burning Man, resonatingwith audiences through both meditative journeys and powerful dance floor experiences.In 2025, Desert Dwellers entered its most significant evolution yet. Co-founder AmaniFriend stepped away from touring to focus on studio production and other creativepursuits, while a new collaborator joined the project, acclaimed producer andmixing/mastering engineer Sarkis Mikael.The trio of Amani, Treavor, and Sarkis have begun co-creating a powerful new body ofwork, blending their distinct talents into an inspired next chapter.
