JEREMIE ALBINO HEADLINES THE 2026 HAMILTON DAY KICK-OFF CONCERT
When Jeremie Albino was a teenager, he started busking around Toronto, setting up along the boardwalk or on a street corner downtown, wherever he thought he might find some passersby. “Usually nobody was listening,” he says, “but occasionally one or two people would tell me it sounded great. They had places to be and things to do, but they would stop and listen for a little while. That kind of interaction felt very special to me, and that’s when I realized I really do love performing. That’s when I realized I could hold a listener’s interest and give something back to them.” That experience set Albino on his path, and it showed him how much joy can be found in the simple act of connecting with a listener, whether it’s an entire crowd or just one person in that crowd. Since then, he has refined a vital and idiosyncratic mix of styles and sounds that are rooted in tradition but grasping toward the future: His songs are grounded in the gritty storytelling of classic country music, propelled by the rhythms of old-school R&B, played with the wild abandon of early rock ’n’ roll, and sung with the deep feeling of southern soul. Thanks to his sweaty, livewire concerts, he has been steadily growing his audience from a few passersby to packed houses around Canada and the U.S. Our Time In The Sun, his soulful fourth solo album, sounds like the culmination of what he started out on the street corners.

With powerful, earthy harmonies, rootsy guitar licks, and timeless lyrics, The Redhill Valleys emerged with a force onto the Canadian music scene in 2016. The three-piece Americana alt-country group, whose name pays homage to their hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, is composed of Chelsea McWilliams (bass/vocals), Tim Allard (lead guitar/vocals) and Matt Soliveri (drums)). The band doesn’t shy away from nostalgia, drawing influence from artists such as Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Neil Young, The Band, and Fleetwood Mac. After releasing their two-part EP, Travel Well, in 2022, The Redhill Valleys’ single “Anymore” garnered significant praise, including winning first place in American Songwriter’s lyric contest and receiving regular airplay on SiriusXM’s North Americana, CBC Country, and Tom Petty Radio. Winners of Group or Duo of the Year at the 2025 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, the trio was previously nominated for that honour alongside Roots Artist or Group of the Year for three consecutive years. The band has built a loyal fanbase through extensive touring across Canada, with standout appearances at Boots and Hearts, Big Sky, and Cavendish Beach Music Festivals, as well as international performances in the U.S. and U.K., including three shows at C2C: Country to Country 2024, Europe’s largest country music festival. Driven by a passion for creating connection through music, The Redhill Valleys are also committed to accessibility in the arts, proudly supporting initiatives like the AIFEC music education program and Hamilton’s City Kidz. With original tracks like “Making Rumours,” “Rhinestoned,” “Ready To Roll,” “Make It Out Alive,” “I Know You’re Gonna Leave,” and their latest single “Easy Come Easy Go,” the band continues to honour their influences while expanding their reach and pushing creative boundaries.
