CARRIE CLARK ALBUM RELEASE PARTY WITH SPECIAL GUEST ASTRID YOUNG — LIVE AT MILLS HARDWARE
Since the late 1990s, Carrie Clark has been a familiar presence within the Hamilton, Ontario music scene, contributing her bass and vocal talents to myriad albums and live performances by local artists. Most recently, Clark has become a full-fledged member of alt-country outfit Matt Paxton & The Pintos [now simply The Pintos], whose 2023 EP Tornado received international acclaim. However, since 2020 Clark has been creating her own music, and subsequently released her debut EP, Roll Me Up Integrity, two years later. She has now followed it up with Resistor, a six-track collection that highlights her expansive musical range.

Astrid Young is a a singer-songwriter-musician with influences that range from classical to heavy rock, with a healthy dose of blues and country in between. She's been playing music since she was able to walk. Her discography dates back to 1984 and since then she has played or sang on more than 40 releases, some her own, but most as a side-musician or backup singer. She has played stages large and small all over the world, from the Whiskey-A-Go-Go in Hollywood to Paradiso in Amsterdam. Her early influences were classical - Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Beethoven ... which evolved into Black Sabbath, Kate Bush, and others. She plays piano, bass, and 12-string guitar, some say like a weapon. A new extended deluxe version of One Night at Giant Rock is in the works, produced by Eddie Kramer and featuring Victor DeLorenzo (Violent Femmes), David J. (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Tim Welch (National Velvet/Images in Vogue), and Ray Farrugia (Junkhouse). Often described as a renaissance woman, Astrid Young has toured the world, sang at the Oscars, and has gold and platinum records on her wall, but she’s perhaps better known around the County as the award-winning Wine Director at Merrill House. A certified sommelier and award-winning Wine Director at Picton's Merrill House, Astrid is also a best selling author. In 2009 she released the Canadian bestseller Being Young: Scott, Neil, and Me (Insomniac Press). She has written several screenplays, made a film, and is currently working on a work of pure, unadulterated genre fiction titled Haunted When the Minutes Drag.
