The Rex Theater · Galax, Virginia

Every August, tunes spill out of the campsites at Felts Park as musicians and music lovers come together for the Galax Old Fiddlers Convention. This December, join us at the Rex for the premiere of Keeping Time, a PBS Appalachia short documentary filmed during the convention’s 90th edition.

We’ll open the evening with live music, then screen the film and stay for a panel discussion. We’ll share memories from over the years and talk about how generations of musicians and families have kept old-time and bluegrass music going in Galax.

Whether you’ve been coming to the convention for decades or are just getting to know it, come spend an evening with the music and stories that bring people back to Felts Park year after year.
