Event Information

Dana Ives is proud to announce The 2023 Christmas Spectacular, the first annual alternative music festival that’s giving back to the local community. This single day event promises to reignite the local music scene, spread holiday cheer, and feed local families who may be struggling this holiday season.

The Dana Ives Christmas Spectacular will feature performances by ten local bands/DJs, an array of food and art vendors, a tattoo booth, and a food drive in partnership with Culture Aid NOLA. Our goal is to collect at least 1,000 cans leading up to and during the event.

The 2023 Christmas Spectacular is a significant addition to the local music calendar, offering a vibrant platform for emerging alternative artists while fostering community engagement. With the recent absence of large alternative festivals like Voodoo and Buku due to COVID, this event presents a unique opportunity to revive the alternative music community, promote artistic growth, and share the spirit of togetherness during the holiday season through a food drive and Day n' Night celebration

ABOUT CULTURE AID NOLA & THE FOOD DRIVE:

Culture Aid NOLA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing twice-weekly distributions of fresh food to our friends, neighbors and culture bearers. We believe in serving our community with dignity, hospitality and grace and aim to create a welcoming environment for all.

Throughout the month of November, canned food donations can be dropped off at Tough Love Tattoo (1027 Touro Street, New Orleans, LA 70116) 7 days a week between 12 PM and 8 PM. On the day of the festival, donations should be made at The Rabbit Hole. Some great items to donate include peanut butter, canned soup, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned stew, canned fish, canned means, pasta (most prefer whole grain), and rice (most prefer brown rice). Items that are *NOT* accepted include items needing refrigeration, expired food, leftovers, food with packaging concerns, and baked goods.
