Rogue Wave

In 2006, after touring relentlessly in support of their first album Out of the Shadow and then jumping right into the studio, Rogue Wave was anxious to experiment with producer Bill Racine for their second album and push the bounds of their creative abilities. When they first submitted their version of the acclaimed album Descended Like Vultures to their label Sub Pop, they were told the album length was too long. For this special 20th Anniversary edition, Sub Pop is digitally re-issuing the album in its original form, complete with formerly unreleased tracks and brief instrumental interludes. The band is excited to present with Dolby, along with mixing engineer Michael Romanowski, Descended Like Vultures 20th Anniversary Director’s Cut in Atmos. 

The band is returning to the stage for the first time in eight years for Noise Pop Festival on March 1, to play two shows, where they will perform each of their first two albums Out of the Shadow and Descended Like Vultures, in celebration for the re-release by Sub Pop in March.

Michael Romanowski is the chief mastering engineer of Coast Mastering in Berkeley, California and one of the very first Immersive Audio Mastering engineers. Over the past 30 years, Michael has mastered more than 4000 albums.

As a sought-after consultant and advisor for companies such as Dolby, his contributions have helped build and refine tools for creativity while pushing the boundaries of immersive audio production.

Michael designed and built his first surround studio in 2001, added height channels in 2015 and created his first Dolby Atmos music releases before the launch of Dolby Music
