KITTIN (France, Miss Kittin DJ Set)

Known simply as Kittin, Caroline Hervé is a foundational figure of electroclash, the sharp-edged collision of new wave attitude and techno grit that defined a generation of underground dance floors. Her collaborations with The Hacker, especially the era-defining anthems “1982” and “Frank Sinatra,” cemented her global status and became instant classics of the genre. Additional hits like “Silver Screen (Shower Scene)” with Felix Da Housecat and “Rippin’ Kittin’” further expanded her influence, blending icy vocals, deadpan wit, and club-ready bite.

Emerging from France’s early rave and new wave scenes, Kittin helped shape the sound and attitude of electronic music in the late ’90s and early 2000s while carving out space in a male-dominated industry. Her work has always favored intelligence, humor, and independence over trends, leading her to release music on her own label and remain fiercely autonomous. Decades in, Kittin’s legacy endures as both a hitmaker and a cultural force—cool, confrontational, and unmistakably her own.
