Our festival is about the experience, and anyone who has ever been to a sky lantern release knows you don’t experience it if your phone is in your hand to take a selfie, for this event, your eyes are your camera, and your memories are your memories, photo’s do not capture the experience the way the mind, eyes, and soul does.
We advertise the event in the closest, largest cities in the state, or next state over and hold the lantern release at a rural location on large PRIVATE land within driving distance from surrounding cities. To be able to release lanterns they must be released out of city limits or close to city limits in open spaces.
Lantern Safety
Lantern Festivals require specific weather conditions to be able to safely and legally release Sky Lanterns.
Weather affects lantern releases in a few different ways and may require a reschedule. While we will never cancel an event because of weather or environmental conditions, conditions may necessitate a postponement to a later date. Passes are non-refundable — even if if there is a Reschedule. If you do not wish to chance a reschedule due to weather, please exit and do not purchase.
How do we track and cleanup our lanterns?
Lights Over America only uses Premium ECO Friendly Sky Lanterns that are designed and manufactured right here in America.
Details; Our Sky Lanterns are made with Eco Friendly Rice Paper, Bamboo Ring, Natural Fiber String, and a small Wax Cake.
Clean Up; We have a "No Lantern Left Behind Policy", we have our cleanup team stationed out in the landing zone ready to collect every lantern as they begin to descend.
We track our lanterns flight with 4 Mavic 2 Pro Drones, and have just added, heat sensing drones to our tracking and security, so we know exactly where every lantern flies and lands, and we hold trial runs to test and determine where the lanterns will land to station our team members.
NO REFUND POLICY
Even though we do not offer refunds, you're welcome to sell your passes through the fan 2 fan exchange or our buy back program ( must purchase the buy back option when purchasing entry), keep them for a later date, or exchange them to other event companies we've partnered with and attend their events.
Please be advised that many locations are only open to residents of that state, or states listed as eligible to attend. Only purchase entry if you live in the approved locations. Our Nevada Desert Festival is open to all states in America.
