Happy Dragon’s CLOTHING SWAP:
Start the school year with a fresh wardrobe for the kids. Bring gently used clothing they've outgrown from last year and swap it for new-to-you pieces that fit their current size. It's a simple way to pass along clothes that still have plenty of life in them, keep clothing out of the waste stream, and find something your child will love wearing this year.
HOW IT WORKS
- Bring up to 3 children's clothing items.
- Check them in with a Happy Dragon volunteer.
- Get 1 ticket per accepted item.
- Use your tickets to choose new-to-you clothing.
ABOUT HAPPY DRAGON
Happy Dragon is an award-winning volunteer-run thrift shop in Los Gatos that is open 7 days a week.
It dates back to 1958, when a mother and daughter held yard sales to raise money for the Ming Quong orphanage. They did a national letter-writing campaign to gather Green Stamps and eventually collected enough to put a down payment on the building that is home to the Happy Dragon today.
More than 65 years later, that spirit of community giving continues. Happy Dragon raises more than $500,000 each year for Pacific Clinics (formerly Eastfield - Ming Quong and Uplift Family Services).
Though Pacific Clinics is now a statewide organization, all funds raised at the Happy Dragon stay in Santa Clara County, supporting children's mental health and family services. Happy Dragon's work brings together reuse, volunteerism, and a commitment to helping local families.

Family PROGRAMMING:

10:30AM - Musical Storytime with Hello!Lucky
Children's author Sabrina Moyle and musician Chano Tizon will bring Hello!Lucky's signature playful, joy-filled children's books and music to the stage. Known for her colorful, pun-filled books created with her sister, illustrator Eunice Moyle, Sabrina will also host author signings before the performance at 10:00AM; offering a chance to meet the author and take home a signed favorite, or the newest title, A Truck Will Roll!
11:30AM - Music Together with Teacher Meike
Teacher Meike from Smiley Notes in Willow Glen will lead families in a playful, participatory Music Together session filled with singing, movement, rhythm, and musical play. Children and their grown-ups will be encouraged to join in together, exploring music through songs, movement, and hands-on instruments in an engaging program designed especially for little ones.
12:30PM - Storytime with 2026 Caldecott Medal-winning illustrator Cátia Chien
Join 2026 Caldecott Medal-winning illustrator Cátia Chien for a special storytime celebrating books, art, and imagination. Following the session, families will have the opportunity to meet Cátia and have their books signed.
1:30PM - Angels on Stage's Illuminators
End the day on a high note with a special performance by the Illuminators, the community outreach ensemble of Angels on Stage.
