Ballard is an Indianapolis singer/songwriter. In November of 2024 Ballard stepped into Postal Studios with Preston Ott (of Strangebirds, lead guitar/electric rhythm/mandolin), Ryan Fox (ryanfoxbass.com), and Eric Fox (ericfoxdrums.com). What transpired is an EP of alt-country recordings documenting Ballard’s musical journey as an artist. Enter the landscape of On the Run, the debut album from Ballard. From the rollicking, western, runaway ride of the title track, to the southwestern landscape of “City of Refuge,” and on through the country slide ballad, “Never Look Back.” Ride the wave into the jam, “Float On,” that carries you drifting into the Texas Swing of “When You Ever Gonna Settle Down” to arrive at last on a lucky streak with the ballad, “Sometimes I Lose.” Look for “City of Refuge,” the debut single from On The Run, streaming everywhere on January 10, 2025.

American Beech is a midwest indie americana band out of Indiana. Their songs sit somewhere between Woodstock and an early 2000s church basement show. Mark Alexander brings Nashville-style guitar, bass player Ryan Dill joins in on 3-part harmonies, and singer/songwriter Aaron Lucas imagines melodies that inexplicably stick with you.
Songs about the things we find and lose in life; about missing how something used to feel even when it probably wasn’t that different from now. The songs don’t try to fix any of it, but they bring you into the story and leave room for you to sing along.
The band’s live show slips closer to old school rock and roll with extended solos and jams that keep you guessing even if you know the recordings well. If you dig bands like Tom Petty, Sturgill Simpson, Hiss Golden Messenger, or the Avett Brothers, you’ll feel at home.
