The goal of the Local Sound Series at The Guild Theatre is to provide emerging artists in the Bay Area with a platform, audience, and stage to showcase their talents and be discovered.We hope that the community shows up with the expectation of discovering their new favorite artist. Whether or not they know who is performing, we encourage everyone to attend and leave as new fans. On THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10 the co-bill consists of RIVVRS representing Napa and False Bottom Band representing Half Moon Bay.

Through compelling songs and charismatic performances, singer-songwriter RIVVRS radiates an endearing and optimistic vision; his music connects the authenticity of Folk & Americana with the accessibility of pop. His debut single “I Will Follow You” reached #3 on the iTunes Charts in 2016, leading to support slots with artists such as Jewel, Snow Patrol, and Nathaniel Rateliff, in addition to a series of successful US Headline tours and a main stage performance at Bottlerock Music Festival in Napa. His songs have since garnered more than 100 million streams and 100+ features across TV & Film (including shows Suits, Lucifer, Bates Motel, and a National Ad Campaign for Reebok).
In 2019, RIVVRS left the city lights of Los Angeles for a simple life in the countryside of the Foothills, where he now resides with his wife and animals on a 5-acre homestead. With his 5th Album, “Sunlight of the Spirit”, RIVVRS returns to his Americana roots with a compilation of raw and vulnerable songs about the struggles that come with addiction, recovery, and spiritual discovery. Self-produced at his home in Nevada County & mixed by Grammy-nominated producer, Andrew Berlin (Gregory Alan Isakov’s ‘Evening Machines’), the album is due for release Fall 2024.

False Bottom Band is a seven-person string band hailing from Half Moon Bay, CA. Their musical styles range from Old-Time Roots & Bluegrass - to Blues, Rock, Country and beyond. False Bottom Band will take you from foot-stompin’ euphoria to heat string-pulling gospel-like harmonies with a relaxed, west coast vibe. Hailing from a wide range of musical backgrounds and influences, each member brings something different to the table. They blend it all together and let it simmer in a fresh, unique, West Coast Americana pot.
