What is a Warhammer Open? 

Warhammer Open is a weekend-long celebration of Warhammer; featuring official tournaments, hobby activities, painting showcases, and chances to connect with the community. Players of all skill levels are welcome! 

When and where is the Edmonton Open? 

Dates: June 19-21, 2026 

Location: Edmonton EXPO Centre, 7515 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 0J2, Canada 

What kinds of events are happening? 

We’re running a full lineup of Warhammer events, including: 

• Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament 

• Age of Sigmar Grand Tournament 

• Kill Team Tournament 

• Warhammer Underworlds Grand Clash 

*Warhammer Open Edmonton ticket holders also get access a 3-day pass to Game Con Canada. 

I'm not interested in participating, can I come check it out? / Can I bring friends or family who aren’t playing? 

This Warhammer Open is partnering with Game Con Canada, if you are not participating in a tournament you or your family/friends will need either a weekend pass or day pass to Games Con Canada to enter the tournament hall.  

Spectators are welcome to attend, though we ask they do not disrupt ongoing games.  

Is there a Hotel Block I can book? 

Game Con Canada has several hotel block options available to attendees on their website here. 

What are the rules on model modifications? 

All rules and policies regarding models participating in tournaments are in listed in the specific tournament's Player Pack. 

Is there a painting requirement? 

Yes, all miniatures used in Warhammer Open events must be fully painted and based to a reasonable standard.
