Back to Black & Beyond: York Street Hustle Returns to the Music Room

Each week, ten musicians arrive at a former South Philadelphia funeral home where, one by one, they unload their old tube amps and vintage gear. Once inside, the classic sounds of the 1960s are reinvigorated, re-energized and reborn. Legends, like Stevie, Aretha and the Four Tops; lesser-known artists including Donny Hathaway, Arthur Conley and Betty Everett – all are given new life.

From their early years packing tiny South Street bars to repeated sell outs of World Cafe Live, York Street Hustle's repertoire now spans nearly 100 songs. This is not your typical Motown wedding band. With grit, sweat, and attention to detail, The York Street Hustle is the Northeast’s premier 10-piece 1960s soul and Motown tribute.

For this special return to the Music Room, the band is delivering a two-set powerhouse evening. The first set features their signature, high-energy classic 1960s soul repertoire. The second set pays homage to a modern icon with a full performance of Amy Winehouse’s legendary album Back to Black in its entirety, along with select B-side deep cuts.
