We will be honoring the container of the space, which includes these guidelines:
~ this is a judgement free dance journey, feel free to express yourself! 
~ limit conversation on the dance floor, this keeps the energy flowing (there will be a designated space and time to chat)
~ this is a substance free event
~ no phones, photos, or videos on the dance floor, there is so much magic in full presence
~ we invite you to explore the shoe-less experience of dancing barefoot

Our featured artist for this dance is FlavYa!

Meet FlavYa, the dynamic DJ and producer bridging the musical worlds of New York and Brazil. With her eclectic style, she’s been blending traditional rhythms from various cultures, with a special focus on Brazilian, Latin, and dance music, for over a decade. From festivals to intimate gatherings, Flavya captivates dance floors around the globe.

Fluent in English and Portuguese, she connects the dance music scenes of New York, São Paulo, and Florianópolis.

She has developed her own DJing and music production programs and continues to independently teach and mentor aspiring DJs. Beyond performing and teaching, Flavya spends her time digging for 70s and 80s vinyl, creating remixes and edits of classic tracks.

Flavya’s musical journey is a testament to her dedication to the art of DJing and her mission to share her joy and rhythm with the world.

Embodied Connection Warm Up with Cameron Grayson 

In this warm-up, we will connect with ourselves and our bodies, settling into presence to then explore our connection with the others around us. We will attune to the collective energy of the group and find our place in the shared space. This warm-up will prepare us to enter the dance with a sense of regulation, awareness and connection.

Cameron Grayson is a somatic therapist, coach, and visionary artist devoted to the intelligence of the body and the wisdom that emerges through presence. Her work weaves together deep listening, creative expression, and embodied transformation. As a co-host of this dance, she brings a grounding and attuned presence to help cultivate connection—within and among us.

Closing Sound Meditation with Melissa officinalis and Elana Kaufman

We will gently land our dance with a special Closing Sound Meditation with Elana Kaufman and Melissa officinalis, featuring live instruments such as guitar, shruti box, koshi chimes, harmonium, shakers, rain stick, gong, singing bowls, and vocals, including call and response mantra, and guided meditation. Please feel welcome to bring a blanket to sit or lay on for this experience.

About Elana Kaufman

Elana Kaufman is a Yoga instructor (E-YTT 300,) Usui Reiki practitioner, space holder, and musician who is passionate about fostering community, whole being nourishment, and self expression. Her degree in holistic psychology and the healing arts alongside a dedicated yoga practice of over 20 years inform her love of teaching and facilitating healing experiences. She is passionate about empowering students’ self inquiry and growth through decolonized Yoga for every body.

About Melissa officinalis

Melissa officinalis (Melissa Scheibner) is an ecstatic dance facilitator and DJ, herbal medicine steward, sound meditation practitioner, and community organizer. She is passionate about bringing community together for holistic experiences, connecting with mind, body, spirit, and nature. She is a co-organizer of Hudson Valley Ecstatic Rhythms, and co-founded Quiet Hours Silent Disco in 2019, and has been organizing community events in the medicinal gardens at Tweefontein Herb Farm for the past four seasons.
