About The Horsenecks

The Horsenecks are Oregonian Gabrielle Macrae and Liverpudlian Barry Southern. Now based in Astoria, Oregon, they are two multi-instrumentalists who have come together from traditional music backgrounds and found a sound that weaves through layers of influence that include early Appalachian stringband music, classic country, bluegrass and original folk. Their deft musicianship, powerful harmony singing and creative instincts with old and new material have earned them a place among the leading interpreters of Old Time music today.

About Burnt Mills Highballers
Burnt Mills Highballers are an old-time string band rooted in Milford, New Jersey, playing their high energy versions of traditional fiddle tunes and songs. The band came together through the Appalachian Fiddle & Bluegrass Association, uniting a rotating ensemble on fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, and banjo uke, creating a bridge for multiple generations with members ranging ages 19 to 69. They play every weekend in the Delaware River Valley and host a monthly square dance in Frenchtown, NJ.
Their name carries a double dose of local history: Milford was once known as "Burnt Mills" after a large fire in 1769, while "highball" traces back to the old railroad signal for full speed ahead. They draw on old-time string band traditions going back to the 1920s and describe themselves as "a fiery trainwreck."
