About Jazzgrass Chamber Orchestra
The Jazzgrass Chamber Orchestra was born from a simple yet profound question posed by Alfred Poor in early 2025: What if jazz standards were played with the rustic charm of bluegrass instruments? Inspired by this thought, Alfred gathered six talented musicians who shared his vision. Together, they embarked on a musical journey that blended the improvisational spirit of jazz with the acoustic warmth of bluegrass. From their first experiment with Weather Report's 'Birdland' to their diverse repertoire featuring legends like Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis, the orchestra has captivated audiences with its innovative sound. Each member brings a unique background and skill set, contributing to the rich tapestry of the orchestra's performances. United by their passion for music, they continue to push boundaries and explore new musical landscapes.
