Leila Bordreuil [NYC]

Kee Avil

Anna Arrobas & Without Me Nothing Laughs

To celebrate the grand return of the Festival Triste*, we’re teaming up with the SAT to bring you an evening worthy of the festival’s name on November 28 — expect melancholy, introspection, and intense emotions!

Let yourself be lulled by the melancholy of Anna Arrobas’s ballads, singing about love, longing, sacrifice, and the divine. She is joined by Quinn Bachand, performing under as Without Me Nothing Laughs; together they will present a new, darker atmospheric body of work, blending electronic music with traditional folk instruments (hurdy-gurdy, dulcimer, organ, etc.).

Next up is Kee Avil, armed with her guitar and her delicate voice — both of which conceal a controlled storm that seeps through the seams of her glitchy, erratic productions — before surprising you with more tender moments, not unlike a soft rage seeping out from a cracked porcelain.

Leila Bordreuil will close the night with a modified cello set, distorting its sound to envelop the audience in a blanket of noise, feedback, and a lush, moving tapestry of sound. Demonstrating a mastery of affect and musical negative space, her performances oscillate between striking waves of raw sounds and drones complemented by more meditative cello passages.

Come shed a tear with us at this intimate concert…… </3
