Taylor Swift Shares Her View of the Music Industry

This week, superstar Taylor Swift penned an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal to give music fans and executives some optimism. In it, she wrote that she “still believes that the music industry is not dying…it’s just coming alive.” Swift highlighted the element of surprise and that an artist’s album must hit their fans like an arrow through the heart. Trey Songz Debuts at #1 on the Billboard Charts with ‘Trigga’

Weekly TicketA big congratulations goes out to Trey Songz who scored the #1 album in America this week! ‘Trigga’ went on to sell 105,000 copies in its first week beating out the rest of the competition. Oh Na Na Na Na! Trey is signed to Atlantic Records, the same record label that put out the #1 album last week! Remember? Our buddy Ed Sheeran also took the top spot with his new album ‘X’! NYC’s Global Citizen Festival Announces Lineup

Weekly TicketThe Global Citizen Festival in New York City is set to return this year with another concert on Central Park’s Great Lawn on September 27! This huge, free ticketed event’s goal is to end world poverty through music. How awesome is that? Its giant lineup includes Jay Z, No Doubt, Carrie Underwood, fun., The Roots and Tiesto! “I love how this year’s lineup brings together the king of hip-hop and the king of EDM,” Global Poverty Project co-founder Hugh Evans told Rolling Stone. Well, we love that too!


MTV Announces First VMA Performers

Weekly TicketIt’s going to be hard to top Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke’s controversial performance at the MTV VMAs last year in Brooklyn, but this week the network announced some of the 2014 performers. First up is our girl Ariana Grande who will perform her hit ‘Break Free’ featuring Zedd! Her album drops the day after the awards show, which is sure to get everyone pumped. Most recently, MTV also announced that Usher and 5 Seconds of Summer will hit the VMA stage! The show will air from The Forum in Inglewood, California on August 24! Mega-Manager Scooter Braun Gets Married

Weekly TicketScooter Braun, the talent manager who discovered Justin Bieber, is now a married man! He and fiancee Yael Cohen recently tied the know in the company of more than a few famous friends such as Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tom Hanks, and many more! In case you didn’t know, his leading lady is known for starting the famous ‘F*ck Cancer’ campaign. Right after Scooter and Yael shared their first kiss, Bieber broke out into song with “All You Need is Love” by The Beatles.
