2. Majid Jordan
The electro-soul-pop band out of London have had a lot of love on the blog space recently. Their sound is unique and magnetic and they have found themselves in a position to full-on break out in 2015. With no doubt that a US tour and a full length album are ensuing, it’s easy to see why this band is on of the up and coming artists of 2015.
Lido is a remix master. Simple as that. He has created some remixes that are just aren’t definable within a genre. His unique sound has gotten the attention of Diplo, Alt-J and about every blog on the internet. With only a few originals and a glut of mesmerizing remixes, Lido is poised for a big 2015 full of new tracks and his first US tour.
Not much needs to be said about this man. He has had projects with the likes of Flume and Ta-Ku and has already had a pretty darn good year with an album release in early 2014 and a multitude of shows. However, we expect much bigger things from this Aussie in 2015. If I would guess, I’d say he’s got a spot on all of the upcoming festivals of 2015
Mr. Bay is a singer-songwriter out of the UK with 3 EPs already under his belt since 2013. His EP “Let it Go” hit top 10 on iTunes albums chart. He also went on tour with Hoizer in early 2014. Just recently, Bay was announced as the Brit Awards Critic Choice Winner 2015, following in the footsteps of past winners Adele, Jesse J and Sam Smith. Definitely some good footsteps to follow.
This San Francisco based DJ has re-invented the melodic house genre with his easy-listening style, incorporating melodic and deep elements into his music. His style isn’t too aggressive but also unique enough to give it its own sound. Big things coming for the bay-area native in 2015.
The man that is also the producer of Mario Basanov released a single this year that pretty much went viral. “Walking With Elephants” peaked at # 6 on the UK Singles Chart and we all know the English are ahead of the game when it comes to music.
Not much is known about Mr. Garret Borns other than his newly released single 10,000 Emerald Pools. The single is certainly an ear grabber and with an EP that recently came out on Interscope he is gearing up for a big 2015.
12. George Maple
Jess Higgs or George Maple has toured with Flight Facilities and has been featured on songs by big name DJs like Flume. The Aussie native just popped out 2 new songs, “Talk Talk” and “Vacant Space”, that had a good deal of success. Her sound and following have given us enough reason to throw her on this list.
This electro-pop-hip-hop duo from the US has made quite a splash this year with singles “Coffee” and “Hey Mami.” With a full length and a tour due up in 2015, the year should be filled with high expectations met.
The New York duo has only been around for about a year and have seen some serious love on their debut EP Varsity. Over 4 million Soundcloud Streams in under a year is enough for us to know that these guys will have a nice 2015.
