Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj Release ‘Bang Bang’

Weekly TicketHave you been searching for the song of summer? Did you think it was Magic!’s ‘Rude’ or Nico & Vinz’s ‘Am I Wrong’? Maybe Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’? Well, the confusion has completely been shut down as three musical powerhouses have released THE SONG OF THE SUMMER. Jessie J, Ariana Grande, & Nicki Minaj’s ‘Bang Bang’ is what we all have been waiting for. It’s fast. It’s hard. It’s in your face. It’s amazing! The track is completely different from anything out right now. Jessie J opens the anthem, Ariana perfectly compliments her, and Nicki just tears up the end with an intense verse. Go listen. BANG. BANG.

Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett Join Forces For Jazz Album

Weekly Ticket“What will Lady Gaga do next?” is a common question asked by the media, her Little Monsters, and just society in general. Well, the answer is here: Mother Monster and the legendary Tony Bennett are teaming up for a collaboration album called ‘Cheek to Cheek’! The pair announced that the album is set to arrive on September 23 on The Today Show in New York City. The debut single from the album ‘Anything Goes’ is now available on iTunes. “No autotune. No tricks. Pure jazz,” Lady Gaga said in a recent tweet promoting the track. With that said, we’re definitely looking forward to this. It’s always good to mix it up, and we’re excited for what these two have planned!

5 Seconds of Summer Debut at #1 on Billboard Charts

Weekly TicketMove over One Direction because it’s 5 Seconds of Summer’s time to shine! Although the boys are currently opening for 1D on their ‘Where We Are’ Tour, they have proven that they are indeed headliners now. 5SOS released their new self-titled album last week, and it debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts! The band went on to sell 259,000 copies of the album in their first week. “5SOS’s opening also marks the biggest debut for an act’s first full-length album this year, and the largest for a group in nearly eight years,” says Billboard. The band has also announced their first headlining tour to kick off in July 2015. Talk about planning ahead! Congrats 5SOS. This is only the beginning!

Lorde To Curate Entire ‘Hunger Games’ Soundtrack

Weekly TicketWow, this is definitely cool: It’s been announced that breakout star, Lorde, will hand-pick the artists for the soundtrack to ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1’, and Lorde, herself, will provide the lead single for the album, which is set to be released this fall. The movie hits theaters on November 21, 2014, but hopefully we get some new music soon. “I sat down with Lorde on the set of Mockingjay this spring and I was immediately struck by how she so innately understood what we, as both fans and filmmakers, were trying to accomplish with the film,” Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence recently said. “The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating, and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people,” added Lorde. The countdown starts now. May the musical odds be ever in our favor.

Taylor Swift Will Perform at the 2014 MTV VMAs

Weekly TicketWe called it! Yes, it’s true. Just like we predicted in our ‘8 Performances We Need at the 2014 MTV VMAs’, it has officially been announced that Taylor Swift will indeed perform at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on August 24. It’s been almost two years since we’ve heard new music from T. Swift and we’re pretty sure we’re going to get what we’ve been waiting for at the VMAs. Details on the performance are being kept under wraps, but we already know it’s destined to be explosive. Would we expect anything less from the biggest superstar on the planet? The hints keep rolling in every week as Taylor will most likely release a new album sometime this fall. We’re having a tough time being patient, Ms. Swift. We need Album 5!
