Zeds Dead announced about a week ago (week ago) that they’ll be headlining at Dead Rocks 2015, held at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.
I hadn’t heard of the event, but I knew Zeds Dead, so I decided to play the first song I’d ever heard by them while thinking of questions that I needed to be answered immediately:
1. What is Dead Rocks?
I used my trusty friends named Google and YouTube to answer a few questions for me, and I was VERY PLEASED with my results.
Let’s start by taking a look at Zeds Dead’s promo trailer from last year.
Please try and tell me that you don’t low-key lose it after watching this. Thanks.
2. What is the Red Rocks Amphitheatre?
Dead Rocks will be held at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which is basically a super unique space due to the fact that it looks like what I imagine a concert in the Grand Canyon to be like.
Think like… the Roman Colosseum. Its architecture is characterized by its columns, signifying it as Roman; the colosseum reminds you of chariot races and lions and that one Pepsi commercial with Beyonce and BSpears and Pink.
Now imagine the Colosseum with Colorado-esque characteristics. Huge boulders and sick rock structures give the performers and the audience the true meaning of rocking hard. The way the rocks are shaped make the acoustics amazing for concerts.
With this lineup and this ridiculous venue, I’m thinking a trip out to Colorado is necessary. Dead Rocks is on July 2, plenty of time to save up… maybe.
3. Where can I get presale tickets?
You can find presale tickets on Tixr, and you won’t want to miss out. As Lloyd may or may not have said in that Young Money song, “Call me Mr. Flinstone, I can make your Dead Rocks.”
